What expenses represent

An expense in Finvo is a record of money you spent. Each expense has a description, amount, date, and optional category.

Expenses don't connect to bank accounts or credit cards. You add them manually when you want to keep track of something.

When to add expenses

Add expenses when you want to remember what you spent on, especially business-related costs. Some common examples:

• • Software subscriptions
• • Office supplies
• • Professional services
• • Travel costs

You don't need to track every purchase. Use expenses for the spending you want to monitor over time.

Monthly visibility

The Expenses page shows your spending organized by month. You can see totals at a glance and drill down to individual items.

This makes it easy to answer questions like "What did I spend on software this quarter?" or "How do my expenses compare month to month?"

Expenses and reports

Expenses feed into Finvo's reporting features. When you generate a report, you can include expense data alongside invoice data to get a fuller picture of money in and money out.

How far back can you look?

Depending on your plan, you can view expenses from different time periods. This is called the lookback period.

For example, some plans let you see the past 3 months of expenses, while others let you see 12 months or more. Your expense data is always stored, so if you upgrade, you'll see more history immediately.

What expenses don't do

Finvo's expense tracking is intentionally simple. It doesn't include:

• • Receipt scanning — You enter expense details manually.
• • Reimbursements — There's no workflow for getting paid back.
• • Bank syncing — Expenses don't connect to financial accounts.

If you need these features, you'd pair Finvo with dedicated accounting software. Finvo gives you quick visibility without the complexity.
