Invoices

This page covers invoices you create through the Finvo dashboard. If you're generating invoices programmatically, see the API documentation.

What is an invoice in Finvo?

An invoice is a document you send to a client or customer requesting payment for work or goods. In Finvo, an invoice includes your business details, the recipient's information, line items describing what you're billing for, and a total amount.

When you create an invoice, Finvo generates a PDF that you can download, email, or share however you prefer.

UI invoices vs. API invoices

There are two ways to create invoices in Finvo:

  • Dashboard (UI) — Fill out a form, preview your invoice, and download or email it directly.
  • API — Send invoice data from your own systems and receive a PDF in response.

Both methods produce the same result: a professional invoice PDF. The difference is just how you provide the information.

What gets saved when you create an invoice?

When you create an invoice through the dashboard, Finvo saves:

  • The invoice number
  • Recipient name and email
  • Total amount
  • Date created
  • The PDF file itself

This lets you come back later and find or re-download any invoice you've created.

Finding your invoices

All invoices you've created appear on the Invoices page. You can see basic details at a glance and click any invoice to view or download it again.

Invoices are listed with the most recent first.

Downloading an invoice again

If you need another copy of an invoice you've already created, go to the Invoices page, find the invoice you need, and click the download button. The PDF will be exactly the same as when you first created it.

What Finvo doesn't do

Finvo is focused on invoice generation, not full accounting. A few things to keep in mind:

  • No payment tracking — Finvo doesn't know whether an invoice has been paid. You'll track that elsewhere.
  • No editing sent invoices — Once created, invoices can't be modified. If you need to make changes, create a new invoice.
  • No reminders — Finvo won't send follow-up emails about unpaid invoices.

This keeps things simple. Finvo handles the invoice itself; you handle the rest.
